SUPPORTERS OF kNOll TO WIND FARM ACTION GROUP

“STUMP UP” CASH FOR GREEN INITIATIVE.

Last weekend saw most people take down their Christmas decorations and throw away their Christmas trees.

In Brent Knoll, villagers used this as an opportunity to both demonstrate their “Green” credentials and their support of the campaign objecting against the proposed commercial development of a Wind Farm between Burnham-on-Sea and Brent Knoll.

This was achieved through a collection of Christmas trees for re-cycling organised by “kNOll to Wind Farm’s Green Action Group and its Fund Raising committee.

The photo below shows some of the recycling team in action.

A spokesman for the Action Group said

“ kNOll to Wind Farm” is not an anti-green group, far from it. However, we strongly believe that the situation of the proposed wind farm is inappropriate for this type of development. Some of our supporters thought that collecting Christmas trees for recycling would be a good way of raising funds to support our activities, making a contribution to sustaining the environment, and also to assist members of our local community deal with the perennial issue of what to do with their old Christmas trees”.
