Wind Farm Planning Application – 12/06/00007
Sedgemoor District Council will be deciding the above
application SOON. It will have an enormous effect on your
local environment if built. YOU NEED
TO ACT NOW If you don’t
it will be too late !.
There are many valid reasons to object to this proposal,
some are listed below, but you may have others :-
- It
is against Local Planning Policy; set out in the Sedgemoor Local Plan
- It
is contrary to previous planning decisions in the area related to the
height and/or visual impact of proposals for various radio masts,
buildings etc.
- The
Environmental effect, in terms of visual impact (visually dominant in an
otherwise flat landscape), noise impact, impact on a historic landscape
and unique visual feature and Historic National Trust site, impact on
animals, plants and birds etc. is unacceptable.
- The
inadequate highway access to the site along Stoddens Lane
- The effect
of the construction on the landscape, in terms of new roads and the effect
that tonnes of concrete foundations will have on the water table and
flooding;
- The
Economic effect in terms of destruction of local capital value and the knock
on effects on jobs, spending power and Tourism, is such as to create a
significant risk to the health of the local economy;
- The effect
on social amenity, such as visual and noise impact, local land use for
walking, horse-riding and husbandry and the potential impact on television
reception is unacceptable;
- The
potential Health and Safety risks associated with locating such a
development close to large numbers of homes, community facilities, school,
roads, Retirement and Nursing homes, footpaths and bridleways, flight
paths and the mainline railway connection to the South West.
- Possible
impact on people’s health due to Light Flicker (Epileptics, Autistics) and
Low Frequency noise
This is the most significant planning proposal that
this location has ever seen. It
is time to defend the Knoll in the same way it has defended the local
population for thousands of years.
